Why front load washing machines are the best
The main difference between a front load and a top load washing machine is the way the clothes are loaded in the washing machine. As the name suggests, top loader washing machines have clothes for washing loaded from the top and for the front loader washing machine the clothes are loaded from the front.
Why the front loading washing machine can wash clothes better is because the front loading machine has a big drum which rotates on the horizontal axis. Clothes are only about half filled. It is not a widely known fact, but the action of air being squeezed out of clothes in soapy water gets rid of dirt most efficiently. You may remember when you hand wash your clothes, you can hear the noise of air being squeezed out.
While washing the clothes the front loader drum rotates at a slow speed and hence is very gentle on the clothes and the clothes last longer. Unlike the top loading washing machines which relies on speed to clean clothes, the front loading washing machine is slow and relies on lifting up and dropping back of clothes to clean it.
Other advantages of the front loading washing machine are that it needs less water, detergent and electricity to operate when compared to a top load washing machine.
